Specifically designed for use in law enforcement environments, interRAI’s Brief Mental Health Screener (BMHS) captures an Officer’s observations and records them in clinical language.
Officers access HealthIM via cruiser work stations or mobile devices (Android or iOS). System seamlessly integrates with RMS (NICHE or Versadex).
Assessment completed in 4-5 minutes. Officer inputs response from the individual, caretakers, bystanders as well as their own observations. Detailed explanations of clinical language are provided for each question.
Once all questions are answered the system calculates the risk an individual may harm themselves, harm others or fail to care for themselves. Officers use these criteria to support their on-scene decision.
In situations where apprehension for assessment is the most appropriate outcome, HealthIM establishes a secure connection to local hospital site(s).
A clinical summary is generated and securely transmitted from the MDT or mobile device to hospital triage. This provides advanced warning of an incoming apprehension and enables early healthcare response, such as mobilizing security.
If available, information from previous contact with the individual is displayed graphically. This provides additional information to healthcare practitioners and can identify individuals who may be decompensating.
Data is automatically synced with Records Management Systems (RMS) to avoid duplicate data entry. All BMHS reports, whether in progress or complete, can be centrally viewed.
HealthIM automatically and securely transmits report data to both Police RMS and to healthcare partners, including hospitals and community mental health organizations.
To avoid duplicate data entry and paper-based record keeping, HealthIM developed integrations with both common RMS providers in Canada (Versaterm and NICHE).
Managing a complex challenge requires timely access to accurate data. HealthIM provides an Analytics Dashboard to Command, IT and administrative staff.
A variety of metrics can be monitored in real-time including: Call Volume, Apprehension Rate, Admission Rate and Hospital Wait Times.
Full colour reports are automatically generated based on pre-saved templates. Reports can be set to automatically distribute to community partners such as hospital site(s) and community mental health agencies.
When completing a BMHS report, officers must enter their name, rank and badge number. This automates the Performance Management functionality.
